Slim Santa

Another attack on Santa! Now some health officials are suggesting that Santa Claus lose weight and now longer be that Jolly fat fellow that thrills kids from all over. They say that his fat self is not a good role model for kids in this day of growing obesity among our nations children.

Maybe we should suggest that parents get their kids to exercise more, spend less time in front of the T.V. and get outside and play, play, play! Real games! That is what is needed! Let’s not blame poor Santa for our lack of motivation.

It’s kind of easy for parents to blame others for the problem. I know that these days it is hard to check on everything our children eat and do during the day. We’re all working and doing all we can to keep our heads above water with the lifestyles we lead these days. But I would think that if we take care of our own bodies then that would rub off on our children. We are the best example that we can give to our children.

That goes for all the single folks, like myself, also. If I keep thin or at least thinner, than children would see me as an example of what we can do to stay healthy. That’s one reason I try to stay a little more weightless.

Santa as he is, is traditional. He has always been fat. Read “The Night Before Christmas.” Can he shake his belly like jelly if he had the stomach of Mick Jagger?  His lips would be the part of the body shaking then.

No, I want Santa chubby. I want him oozing down the chimney. I want to see him with a lap to sit on. Free Santa! Don’t let the forces of political correctness shackle him any more!

Yes, but couldn’t Santa’s problem be related to slow metabolism? The man leads a pretty sedentary life except for an explosion of activity around mid-December. That could explain a lot…
